Changes in the application for Unemployment Insurance

Since Nov-21-2017, the Ministry of Labor provided new procedure for online application of unemployment insurance.

Procedures

After receiving the unemployment insurance documents, the worker may order through the “Emprega Brasil”website (https://empregabrasil.mte.gov.br/) filling the form, which was previously filled at the National Employment System (Sistema Nacional de Emprego - “Sine”).

After submitting the form, the worker should still attend to a Sine branch. According to the government, this action should speed up the service at the agencies, as the employee's registration will already be at the system.

The deadline to receive the benefit will start thirty days from filling the form online, and not from attendance to the agency, as it was previously.

Register

To schedule the unemployment insurance, employee should be registered at “Emprega Brasil” website. By clicking "Cadastrar", at screen “cidadão.br”, the worker's authentication tool at will open.

The filled information will be validated at National Register of Social Information (Cadastro Nacional de Informações Sociais - “Cnis”). Find here the guidelines prepared by the Ministry of Labor on how to request unemployment insurance.
