2018 Web Summit Mission

Domingues e Pinho Contadores travelled to Lisbon for a journey of business, knowledge, and networking. From November 4 to 10, William Pinho and Carlos Ripper represented the company at the 2018 Web Summit Mission promoted by the Federation of Portuguese Chambers of Commerce in Brazil to generate opportunities and exchange experiences among players from different segments.

The mission was to connect startups and Brazilian entrepreneurs with the Lisbon entrepreneurship scenario, which has stood out as a pole of technology and innovation in recent years, which is being considered one of the five best cities in Europe to develop this business model.

On the 4th day, the mission began with a visit to the Nova SBE (School of Business & Economics), in Cascais.

Web Summit 2018

From November 5-8, all the attention was turned to the Web Summit, Lisbon edition, one of the largest and most important conferences of technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the world.

Carlos Ripper and William Pinho participated in the fair with an eye on the innovations that startups and technology lectures presented, focused on searching for ideas and solutions applicable to the DPC’s business.

"It is an event to open the mind and learn more about the most advanced technologies that are being used by big companies, as well as getting to know the projects of the main startups around the world", said Pinho.

For Ripper, the Web Summit gives a new dimension to the strategic thinking of technology in companies. "I see this event as a great meeting of the innovation ecosystem, with the active participation of startups of the most diversified levels of maturity presenting ideas and solutions related to the most advanced technology. All this under the watchful eyes of investors and other players of this system composed of representatives of the four corners of the planet", he analyzed.

The Beez Studio CEO Claudia Wilson, a specialist consultancy on internationalization, corporate innovation and startup acceleration programs, participates annually in the event. "It is an excellent opportunity for Brazilian companies to understand the world trends, both those that still seem unattainable, but that already serve to give a north, as for immediate actions that allow for cost reduction, increased competitiveness and increase of profit", she highlighted.

"I am very happy to see that DPC is starting to make its own moves for digital transformation, which is very important for any company in Brazil in the present days", she added.

The Web Summit brought together 70,000 participants from 170 countries during the four days of intense programming, bringing more than 1,200 lectures by professionals who are references in the technological community.

With the end of the Web Summit, Carlos Ripper and William Pinho continued meeting the agenda scheduled by the business mission until November 10.
