ANNUAL CBE delivery starts in February
The ANNUAL Declaration of Brazilian Capitals Abroad (CBE) referring to the base date of December 31, 2020 must be delivered by the individuals and legal entities resident in the country that have assets (goods and values) abroad, in the period of February 15 and 18 hours of April 5, 2021.
The assets may be assets, rights, financial instruments, availabilities in foreign currencies, deposits, real estate, participations in companies, shares, bonds, commercial credits, etc.

It is worth mentioning that the base requirement for a declaration floor was recently changed from US$ 100 thousand to US$ 1 million, according to Resolution no. 4,841/2020, in force since September 1, 2020.
The Central Bank uses the information regarding external assets for statistical purposes. However, the taxpayer must be aware of the fact that there are fines for not declaring or in other cases established in legislation. The values vary from R$ 2.500 to R$ 250.000, and there may be an increase of 50% in some cases.
