*As of 12/12/2022, access codes will be discontinued, and access will be done exclusively via gold and silver level gov.br accounts.
In other words, 12/11/2022 will be the last day for employers who access the eSocial to log in using their access codes and passwords. Starting on the 12th, access codes will be discontinued and access to the modules may only be performed using a single login from gov.br accounts awarded with a gold or silver seal of reliability. Users who have been awarded a bronze seal must increase the reliability level of their accounts.
To learn more about the gov.br account levels, see their guidelines here. You can check the current status of your account through the gov.br app or website, where you will also find an option to request a level up.
Submissions via digital certificates remain unchanged
No changes are in place for those who submit events to the eSocial using their own payroll management systems (such as those used by corporate or accounting offices). In these situations, all files sent must continue to be signed with a digital certificate.
Do you need to issue or renew a digital certificate? See how to make a request here.
It should be noted that the changes taking place in December refer only to the forms of accessing the web modules and the eSocial Domestic application.
eSocial accessed by third parties
For security reasons, users who entrust their eSocial access and information to third parties (accountants or non-official applications) should not give out their gov.br passwords, as this also enables access to other digital systems of the government.
Alternatively, an individual may grant a power of attorney to a third party, allowing the latter to perform actions solely related to the eSocial, without jeopardizing the former’s data security. By doing this, attorneys-in-fact are able to use their own digital certificates to supply information on the eSocial on the employers’ behalf.
