DPC supports projects that combine education and culture

Every year, DPC endorses efforts that foster social transformation through education and culture

Investing in education and culture contributes to changing reality while developing our country. By endorsing efforts that combine these fundamental principles, DPC has reached the end of another annual cycle of its program for socio-environmental responsibility - DPC Transforma.

Throughout 2022, the company has sponsored projects that have had a positive impact on the lives of countless people in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

Every year, DPC makes a choice based on the goals and visions it shares with each project’s proposal, thus countless efforts have been endorsed by the company. Learn more below about the ones that promote culture and education:

Multiply Good: technology without borders

For the second consecutive year, DPC has sponsored the project “Multiplique o Bem” (Multiply Good), aimed at fostering a more engaging and interactive education environment that is capable of encouraging the youth to stay in school.

The project seeks to implement workshops on robotics, software programming, and animation in public schools. Hundreds of teachers have been trained to act as peer educators. This effort also leaves a legacy for the community, as schools will keep the robotics labs, so that the teachers themselves can carry on with the project.

Tack: social change through innovation

This is yet another project that DPC has sponsored for a second time. The biggest youth entrepreneurship competition in the country, the Tack Challenge was attended by more than 300 high school students coming from public schools from all over Brazil.

Over the last few months, students have designed and developed solutions aimed at promoting social inclusion under the guidance of the Junior Achievement NGO. The best idea was pitched by students from a school in the countryside of the state of Pernambuco – an application to promote literacy – which earned them a trip to Harvard to attend the Brazil Conference that will be held in the United States in 2023.

The event also featured a festival open to the public in Rio’s Botanical Garden.

Schools Challenge: overcoming hardships at school

“Desafio nas escolas” (Schools Challenge) is an educational TV and web series where, in each episode, a school is visited and students are asked to choose a problem, such as repurposing an underused space, to be solved in one day. From there, the students and the community join forces to solve the issue at hand and change their own reality.

Four episodes will be shot at schools from the Rio de Janeiro public education system and will air in 2023, on the “Canal Futura” channel and the “Porta dos Fundos” social media.

Literary Treasure: education that promotes citizenship

“Baú Literário” (Literary Treasure) is part of an educational program run by Ação Comunitária do Brasil/RJ in the community of Vila do João, in the Maré Favela Compound.

The project is aimed at preserving the ACB/RJ Children's Library, where activities are carried out that contribute to reducing the learning difficulties of children enrolled in public schools located in areas of social vulnerability.

Osesp Music Academy: training musical talents

In this latest cycle, through the Municipal Program for the Sponsorship of Cultural Projects - Pro-Mac, DPC has supported the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (Osesp) Music Academy, the largest project aimed at the training of classical musicians in the country. This effort fosters the artistic development of young talents by training instrumentalists, singers and conducting students to perform at top-level orchestras and choirs.
