Employers should be aware of the monthly minimum wage in 2018
Extra Edition of the Official Gazette, of Dec-29-2017, published the Decree 9.255, which brought the national minimum wage amount of BRL 954.00 per month, effective as of Jan-01-2018. Its daily value corresponds to BRL 31.80 and its hourly rate to RBRL 4.34. Comparing with the value of 2017 (BRL 937.00), there was a readjustment of 1.8143% or BRL 17.00.
It is worth mentioning that most states follow the national minimum wage, however in some there are regional base salaries that must be respected.
