Hacktudo: DPC supports the 2024 edition of the technology and innovation festival
The event offers social and digital inclusion, attracting around 20,000 participants each year
DPC is once again among the supporters of Hacktudo, the largest free digital culture festival in Brazil. The event, now in its 8th edition, will take place on October 24, 26, and 27 at Cidade das Artes in Rio de Janeiro.
Through a wide-ranging program that blends innovation and entertainment, the initiative aims to democratize access to new technologies. A variety of activities are offered to promote the social and digital inclusion of children, youth, and adults.
According to William Pinho, head of DPC's Products and Innovation department, it is precisely because of its inclusive and disruptive nature that Hacktudo aligns with the pillars of DPC Transforma, the company's social and environmental responsibility program.
“In addition to the reach and positive impacts it creates for society, this project provides a genuine immersion into the technological world, which is doubly in line with our core principles,” he says.
About Hacktudo
In this edition, the activities are divided into three parts: Hackathons, Conference, and Festival, with the latter mostly offering free activities.
The Hackathons will be held in a virtual environment between October 11 and 19. These competitions challenge students from all over the country to think up innovative solutions to real problems using computer science.
On the 24th, the Conference will feature a series of lectures and talks by specialists to celebrate the “30 years of the internet in Brazil”.
On the 26th and 27th, at Cidade das Artes, the public will be able to enjoy the festival's attractions, such as an exhibition that brings together art and technology, a climbing wall, an immersive virtual reality journey, installations that promote reflection on current and future issues, robot competitions, a drone arena, a maker space and a series of workshops.
The event also promotes gender equality in the tech market through HackDelas and introduces an initiative that fosters the inclusion of people with disabilities in the gaming sector.
