Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Domingues e Pinho Contadores promote an event turned to individuals reporting IRPF and CBE
The period in which taxpayers are required to provide annual information to Treasury and Central Bank is ongoing. In order to guide this public, on March 12, the Portuguese Chamber Commerce of Rio de Janeiro and Domingues e Pinho Contadores (DPC) promoted the seminar "Obrigações Fiscais das Pessoas Físicas: Imposto de Renda e Capitais Brasileiros no Exterior” (Individuals’ Tax Obligations: Income Tax and Brazilian Capitals Abroad). AHK-Rio and Britcham also supported the free event.
Manuel Domingues e Pinho, DPC’s director-president and Portuguese Chamber’s president, opened the program, welcoming the audience, comprised of some 100 participants, and highlighting the importance of the theme.
Augusto Andrade, specialist in Brazilian and foreign executives’ taxation, conducted the lecture, presenting the points that are often subject of taxpayers' doubts when filling Individual’s Income Tax (IRPF) and Brazilian Capitals Abroad (CBE) statements.

The seminar dealt with innovations brought by the 2018 IRPF and CBE programs, the statements presentation forms, the required measures for cases of late filing and corrections, the points of attention for those who have assets overseas, penalties, among other topics.
Andrade, who is also a DPC’s partner and responsible for the Individual’s Department, pointed out that each year, the Brazil’s Federal Revenue has been improving mechanisms for crossing and identifying information conflicts. "The taxpayer must correctly inform the data, so that there is no divergence with the information sent by public agencies, employers, and service providers, for example", he said. The expert also warned about cautions in filing the CBE data, since inaccuracies and omissions may lead to problems with the Central Bank.
The ideal is that taxpayers may count on an advisory for a better follow up of financial facts and support to prepare the statements filed to Brazil’s Federal Revenue or to Central Bank. DPC offers specialized advice to national and foreign individuals in the compliance with their tax obligations.
