Information of the final beneficiary in the CNPJ - deadline alert and change of rules

The deadline for companies providing information of their final beneficiary in the CNPJ was extended to June 26, 2019 through the publication of RFB Normative Instruction 1863/2018, on Dec-28-2018. This term applies to all entities already registered with the CNPJ prior to the publication of this Normative Instruction.

However, the RFB Normative Instruction 1895/2019, recently published by the Special Secretariat of the Federal Revenue of Brazil, which brought changes in the information provided by the final beneficiary, among other points, stating that entities controlled by sovereign wealth funds are not required to provide it.

It is of great importance that companies provide the final beneficiary information within the deadline. The non-completion of the information leads the companies to penalties: suspension of CNPJ registration, inability to negotiate with banking institutions, including current accounts, the investments, and contracting loans.
