Single Intermunicipal Ticket - Statement of Income
The Single Intermunicipal Ticket (Bilhete Único Intermunicipal) is a tariff benefit that allows the use of at least one intermunicipal transportation in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro, within a certain period.
In order to rule the use of reduced rate benefit in the Single Intermunicipal Ticket system, the Decree 45.895/2017 was published in the State of Rio de Janeiro establishing several conditions to grant the benefit. However, we highlight in this text the rules establishing that the user should have a monthly income of a maximum of BRL 3,000.00.
The regulation considers as monthly income earned monthly by the citizen the total sum of the gross income, occasional or regular, received from all paying sources, whether they are Individuals or companies.
In order to take advantage of the Single Intermunicipal Ticket, the electronic card owner should prove the monthly income of a maximum of BRL 3,000.00 filing a statement provided by the employer responsible to purchase the employee’s electronic credit, which must contain its nominal value.
For users who already have issued tickets and in use should state until May 25, 2017. The statement should be made immediately for new requests and 2nd cards.
In case of the passenger has more than one employer associated to a single electronic card should have each income registered by the employers, which sum shall not exceed a monthly income of BRL 3,000.00 for user may receive the tariff subsidy granted by the Single Intermunicipal Ticket Program.
If the actual holder of the card is the only purchaser of the electronic credit, the monthly income information should be reported through a self-statement, which does not require a monthly report namely, but you tick the appropriate field stating a monthly income of a maximum of BRL 3,000.00.
The card owners should preferably do their self-statement through an online system using conventional service channels, provided by the operator of Rio de Janeiro Electronic Ticketing System.
The register should be updated whenever registered user’s monthly income in the Single Intermunicipal Ticket Program is updated.
The employer who fires this employee should update the registration removing the monthly income his information within fifteen (15) business days from the termination of employment relationship date.
The electronic card owners registered in the Single Intermunicipal Ticket with a monthly income greater than BRL 3,000.00 or those who do not stated it within the deadlines should have their transportation benefit disabled in up to fifteen (15) business days.
The monthly income statement will be mandatory for the new registrations at the Intermunicipal Single Ticket System and the benefit will be granted to owners of electronic card earning monthly up to BRL 3,000.00.
The monthly information updating may be requested for users registered in the Single Intermunicipal Ticket at any time, under penalty of having the tariff benefit suspended until this requirement is fulfilled.
The correctness of information provided for in the Decree, including the owner’s income enrolled in the Single Intermunicipal Ticket Program should be under the responsibility author of registration, as well as the responsible for the necessary updates, including the employers.
It is noteworthy that the State Secretary of Transport or the body that may replace it may check the Single Intermunicipal Ticket registration data at any time, using the available legal mechanisms.
The provider of information who fails to comply with the established rules in the Decree or that otherwise involves with practice of fraud to the Single Intermunicipal Ticket rules, whether being the card owner or purchaser, will be subject to responsibility in the administrative, civil and criminal scopes.
