Brazilian Capital Abroad: quarterly statement must be filed by December 5
Quarterly CBE must be submitted by individuals and companies with assets abroad valued at US$ 100 million
Individuals and companies resident, domiciled or headquartered in Brazil should be mindful of the requirement to submit the quarterly statement of Brazilian Capital Abroad (CBE) to the Central Bank of Brazil (Bacen). This report must be filed by December 5 and binds those who held assets abroad amounting to USD 100 million or the equivalent thereof in other currencies as of the September 30 reference date.
Brazilian capital abroad consists of money, goods, rights and assets of any nature held by residents of Brazil outside national territory.
According to the agency, the CBE is an important means of compiling statistics on foreign assets in the country.
Information provided in the CBE
Assets held outside Brazil must be reported in the Quarterly CBE. This includes money, assets (chattel or real estate), trade credit, ownership in non-resident companies, rights, crypto and other financial instruments, such as securities and foreign loans.
