Deadline to file the Economic and Financial Statement (DEF), from the Central Bank: 03/31/2019

Companies earning foreign direct investment with assets or equity equal to or greater than BRL 250,000,000.00 are required to file the Economic and Financial Statement (DEF) to the Central Bank of Brazil on the following dates:

- Base date of March 31 - by the May 31 of each year;

- Base date June 30 - by the August 31 of each year;

- Base date of September 30 - by the November 31 of each year; and

- Base date of December 31 - by the March 31 of the following year.

The company that is required to state and does not do so, or present false, incomplete, incorrect information or out of deadline, is subject to a penalty to be applied by the Central Bank. Therefore, due to the deadline to file the statement for the base date of December 31, 2018 ends on March 31, 2019, we recommend its analysis as soon as possible.

The companies not included in the obligation, that is, with assets or equity of less than BRL 250,000,000.00, annually, until March 31, should include a new corporate structure updated for the date of December 31 2018 in the specific option of the system.
