DPC extends its support to social and cultural projects

The commitment to society has always been one of Domingues e Pinho Contadores’ pillars and it has strengthened in this year with the release of the socio-environmental sustainability program: the DPC Transforma. In addition to internal actions, the program supports several social and cultural projects, some through the Culture Incentive Law of the city of Rio de Janeiro, and aims at social and cultural transformation through education and citizenship, as well as promoting awareness of the direct and indirect impacts of our daily actions.

By 2019, new partnerships were signed to support four entities with clear objectives in their scopes, in accordance with the purpose of DPC Transforma.

Meet the entities and projects supported by the DPC:

Instituto Fernandes Figueira

Nucleus of Support for Educational and Cultural Projects (Núcleo de Apoio a Projetos Educacionais e Culturais - “NAPEC”) is the project that Domingues e Pinho Contadores supports through the Culture Incentive Law of the city of Rio de Janeiro. This project offers support to patients from Instituto Fernandes Figueiras (IFF), seeking to make the stay of children, adolescents hospitalized or under medical care and their families more pleasing and humane. The project has several free cultural, educational and wellness activities

Instituto Trilho

The Instituto Trilho's mission is to promote human development and social inclusion through its work in communities at social risk. Its projects have axes of action in citizenship, education, health, professional training, and income generation. And it is through the Law of Incentive to Culture of the city of Rio de Janeiro that the DPC intends its support to the “Toque de Mão” project, that stimulates the entrepreneurship with qualification and orientation to women over the business management and income generation.

Observatório Social do Brasil - Rio de Janeiro

As Domingues e Pinho believes in the important contribution to the transparency in local public agencies and in the inspection work and fighting against corruption, it is one of the companies that maintains the Observatório Social do Brasil - Rio de Janeiro. The Observatório Social project is present in more than 130 municipalities in 15 states and, in four years of work, it is estimated that more than BRL 1.5 billion were saved from public coffers. The Observatório Social do Brasil - Rio de Janeiro is renowned by the National Council of Public Prosecutor's Office (CNMP) as a pro-integrity entity, focused on corruption prevention and received two awards from the Rio de Janeiro State Court of Accounts - TCERJ, in the transparency and social control area.

Fundação Gol de Letra

The Fundação Gol de Letra, recognized by UNESCO as a model institution, has the support from DPC, through the Culture Incentive Law, in the Caju Community Library project. It promotes reading and writing workshops for children, young people and adults of this community in Rio de Janeiro, which has high rates of illiteracy and school failure. In addition to the maintenance of the activities, the sponsorship makes possible the annual edition of the book "Gol de Letrinhas" with the works developed by the students throughout the period.

Corporate Commitment

Being engaged in social causes means making a difference in society. The DPC began this year aiming to increasingly being present in the causes in which it believes and involving its employees in the supported projects, strengthening this practice within the company.
