With four editions, three in Rio and one in São Paulo, the event approached the situations that generate greater doubts among taxpayers
Taxpayers who have earned income greater than BRL 28,559.70 in 2018, or had non-taxable income greater than BRL 40,000, must file the Income Tax Return for Individuals. Every year, questions arise about what to state, how to do it, which documents are required, among other issues. But one thing is certain: the sooner you get organized, the less likely the taxpayer will fall into the fine mesh. For this reason, Domingues e Pinho Contadores programmed the seminar " Individuals’ Tax Obligations: Income Tax and Brazilian Capital Abroad held in São Paulo on February 2, and in Rio, on February 20, 21 and 26.
Augusto Andrade, a partner in charge of the Individuals Department at DPC, began the lecture, reminding of the reporting period, which this year will be between March 07and the last business day of April, which is the 30th. This period was confirmed in the Normative Instruction released on February 26.
Among the approached issues in the seminar, some were comprehensively commented due the complexity degree at reporting, such as investments and assets abroad, estates and other special situations.
The seminar also addressed the Statement of Brazilian Capitals Abroad, detailing the conditions of requirement and penalties imposed by the Bacen. Finally, Augusto Andrade explained about the opportunities and good practices that shareholders of offshore companies should have in while reporting to the Brazilian tax authorities.
