DPC supports a socio-cultural project in São Paulo
The DPC Transforma program expands its performance by supporting music project for public hospitals in the city.
In order to continue the DPC Transforma program and strengthening the commitment to society, Domingues e Pinho Contadores has embraced yet another socio-cultural project, now in the Municipality of São Paulo. It is the "Revoada" by Grupo Saracura. The project promotes, through music, the humanization of hospital environments for patients, their families, the medical staff and other employees of public hospitals in the city of São Paulo, as well as other activities.
The support for the project is through the Pro-Mac, Programa Municipal de Apoio a Projetos Culturais (Municipal Program of Support to Cultural Projects, in a free translation), of the Municipality of São Paulo, which allows companies to revert part of the Tax on Services of Any Nature (ISS) and the Property Tax (IPTU) for cultural projects.
The supported project
The Grupo Saracura, founder of "Revoada" project, is formed by professional musicians who have been working for more than 10 years in São Paulo with other social projects. All activities of the "Revoada" project are free and performed at public hospitals in order to cover the under-assisted groups of the population or excluded from access to the culture due to their socioeconomic status. Groups or duets of musicians go to all areas of the hospital unit and, therefore, they cover from infants to elder patients, taking to them some relaxation moments.
As a result, the "Revoada" project aims, for example, to meet the patients' needs of support and reception, to transform the hospitalization experience, to allow them to have access to culture, as well as to provide new areas of voluntary work, engaging the population for social actions.
Extending the performance
With the DPC and other companies support, the group intends to form a 12-voice chorus and another of 40 volunteers and expand their presentations in public hospitals in São Paulo. Thus, the impact would reach about 2,400 people. The group also plans to hold crochet workshops to teach 120 people to make amigurumi, crochet octopuses that are donated during interventions to help the development of premature babies. In addition, it is also desirable to expand the presentations in duets at the neonatology area.
DPC support helps in the performance of these activities, but it is not enough. They need more supporters and so we invite you to learn more about the project better: www.gruposaracura.com.br
