Economic-Financial Statement (DEF): quarterly submission to the Central Bank is due by March 31
Companies receiving foreign direct investment holding BRL 300 million or more in assets should be mindful of the schedule for providing information to the Central Bank of Brazil (Bacen).
In 2024, the first quarterly Economic-Financial Statement (DEF) pertaining to the 12/31/2023 reference date, must be submitted by March 31.
The DEF supplies details on a company’s capital, shareholder’s equity, assets, liabilities and cash flows on a three-year basis.
Quarterly DEF submission schedule for 2024
The quarterly DEF must be filed within 90 days following each reference date:

Penalties
Failure to submit the DEF, or providing false, incomplete, incorrect, or late information, may result in fines up to BRL 250,000 for the liable parties.
