Electronic Labor Domicile (DET): deadline for mandatory use extended for household employers and sole microentrepreneurs
Issued on April 26, SIT Notice No. 4/2024 has extended the deadline for mandatory use of the Electronic Labor Domicile (DET) for household employers and Sole Microentrepreneurs (MEI). These groups now have until August 1, 2024, to comply with the requirement. Previously, the deadline was set for May 1.
What is the DET?
The DET is a system managed by the Ministry of Labor and Employment’s Office for Labor Inspection. It facilitates electronic communication between employers and labor inspection authorities.
Mandatory compliance
Registration in the DET is mandatory for all entities subject to labor inspection.

Regular access to the tool is essential since employers are considered to have received any communication sent to the DET mailbox on the day it is electronically accessed:
- either on the day the content of the communication is accessed electronically;
- or by default, on the first business day after 15 calendar days from when the notice is posted in the DET mailbox.
Registration update
Employers are required to update their DET registration at det.sit.trabalho.gov.br.
Registered email addresses will receive notifications about the delivery of important communications and official documents.
This new channel will not only keep employers informed about administrative acts, tax actions, subpoenas, and various notices, but it will also facilitate the electronic submission of documents, whether related to tax proceedings or in the preparation of defenses and appeals.
