Government again extends deadlines for working hours reduction and suspension of employment relationship agreements
The Federal Government, by means of the Decree No. 10,517/2020, published in the Official Gazette, of October 14, extended for additional sixty (60) days the deadlines for signing agreements for proportional reduction of working hours and salaries and temporary suspension employment relationship agreements.
The maximum deadlines plus these sixty days reach 240 days, even in consecutive or interspersed periods, limited to the duration of the state of public calamity.

Example:
The company has signed so far a 60-day + 60-day suspension of the employment relationship agreement
+
60-day working hours/salary reduction agreement

Now it is possible signing a new agreement for suspension of the employment relationship
or
a new agreement of working hours/salary reduction for additional 60 days
Considering the previous agreements plus the new agreement, the total period should not exceed 240 days.
The decree also establishes that employees with an intermittent employment contract formalized by April 1, 2020 will be entitled to the monthly emergency benefit in the amount of BRL 600.00, for an additional period of two months.
