Income Tax: missing returns will now be displayed on "My Income Tax" system

New function provides taxpayers with information on pending returns to remedy their situation

The Federal Revenue Service website has announced that a new function was added to its Income Tax system (‘Meu Imposto de Renda’) on July 7. The new feature displays income tax returns that were not submitted in previous years.

Taxpayers who were required to file their tax returns but failed to do so by the original due date will be able to view their noncompliance status through the system, which is available on the mobile application, on the eCAC, and on the Revenue Service website.

It should be noted that taxpayers who do not put their missing returns into good order may have their Individual Taxpayer ID Numbers (CPF) listed as "Pending Regularization". This situation gives rise to several setbacks, as it prevents individuals from carrying out financial transactions, opening checking accounts, requesting loans and setting up companies, among other issues.
