Minimum wage for 2023 has been announced
Published on December 12, Provisional Presidential Decree No. 1,143 established the new national minimum wage in effect as of January 1, 2023, which will be BRL 1,302.00 (one thousand three hundred and two reais).
The daily rate of the minimum wage will be set at BRL 43.40 (forty-three reais and forty cents) and the hourly rate at BRL 5.92 (five reais and ninety-two cents).
The adjustment considers an estimated 5.81% variation for the National Consumer Price Index (INPC), from January to December 2022, plus an actual increase of around 1.5%.
