New minimum wage in effect as of May 1
The Federal Government of Brazil published Provisional Presidential Decree No. 1,172 , setting the new minimum wage at BRL 1,320.00 (one thousand three hundred and twenty Brazilian reais), which will be effective as of May 1st.
Thus, as of the aforementioned date, the daily and hourly rates of the minimum wage will correspond, respectively, to BRL 44.00 (forty-four Brazilian reais) per day and BRL 6.00 (six Brazilian reais) per hour.
