Quarterly CBE: next submission must be made between October 31 and December 5

Companies and individual taxpayers owning at least USD 100 million abroad must file the Quarterly CBE to the Central Bank of Brazil

Another round for the quarterly submission of the Statement of Brazilian Capitals Abroad (“Declaração de Capitais Brasileiros no Exterior” - CBE) to the Central Bank will soon begin: the next submission must be made between October 31 and December 5, at 6 p.m.

This obligation must be complied with by individuals and companies resident in the country that held assets abroad totaling USD 100 million or the equivalent thereof in other currencies as of September 30, 2022.

Assets consist of goods, rights, financial instruments, cash and equivalents in foreign currency, bailments, real estate, ownership interest in companies, stock, securities, trade credits, etc.

Sanctions

Failing to submit the statement or to comply with the other legal obligations warrants a fine ranging from BRL 2,500 to BRL 250,000, with a possible 50% increase in some cases.
