Quarterly DEF: next statement must be submitted to the Central Bank by September 30
Companies receiving foreign direct investment with assets or net worth equal to or greater than BRL 250 million must file the DEF
The upcoming quarterly Economic-Financial Statement (DEF) must be submitted to the Central Bank of Brazil by September 30. This submission, which concerns the registration of foreign direct investments in companies resident in the country, pertains to the base date of June 30.
This quarterly obligation falls upon companies receiving foreign direct investment whose assets or net worth are equal to or greater than BRL 250 million as of the corresponding base date.
The DEF is prepared through the Central Banks's RDE-IED system (Electronic Registration of Foreign Direct Investment). Before accessing this service, it is necessary to request prior accreditation at the Central Bank Information System (Sisbacen).
Fine
Companies that fail to submit the DEF or do so providing false, incomplete, inaccurate or untimely information will be subject to a fine, of up to BRL 250,000.
