Robotic Automation: DPC presents technological case for group of accounting firms
At the 55th GBrasil Meeting, DPC shared how it develops and implements RPA solutions for process optimization
DPC brought to the 55th GBrasil Meeting a technological business case to display the benefits of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for routine accounting tasks. The event was held in Aracaju, Sergipe, between November 17 and 18.
William Pinho, head of DPC's Products and Innovation hub, showcased solutions designed in-house by the developers at the company’s Labtech – Laboratory for Technology Innovation and Development. The team designs software robots to assist the other departments and also works on demand to optimize its clients’ myriads of processes.
With RPA, software robots are deployed to automate manual and repetitive tasks. Advantages of robotic automation include less time spent on these activities, reduction of performance errors, and freeing up workers to undertake higher-value tasks.
Robots simulate several human actions in an electronic environment, such as mouse clicks, downloads and uploads, system access, queries, e-mail delivery, validation of digital certificates, etc.

According to William, automating certain tasks leads to a significant gain in time, especially when considering the great volume of data that need to be entered repeatedly in daily accounting operations.
He also showed that developing these solutions in-house gives rise to many benefits, such as a higher level of customization and autonomy for the robots, and an easier time monitoring the process, as the boost in agility allows for adaptations to be made whenever necessary.
Through a dashboard, the robots' actions are monitored and human interventions can be performed as needed.
55th GBrasil Meeting
The meeting is held every six months by GBrasil, the largest group of accounting firms in Brazil, which brings together members from the 37 organizations that make up this network and work together to offer an all-round portfolio of high standard services across the country’s capitals and main cities. In addition to being part of GBrasil, DPC is one of the companies that contributed to the group’s foundation in 1996.
The semiannual events aim to promote experience sharing and best practices among the group’s members. In this latest edition, the following topics were highlighted: technology, customer success, people management, and business practices. Over 20 hours’ worth of activities were held in a hybrid format, which included lectures, talk shows, case presentations, and institutional efforts.
