Companies should register until October 31, 2020, thus avoiding penalties due to non-compliance with the mandatory registration.
The City Hall of São Paulo initiated the annual registration process of companies based in the city with the objective of improving the management and logistics of solid waste disposal and urban cleaning of the city.
Companies should register until October 31, 2020, thus avoiding penalties due to non-compliance with the mandatory registration.
The Municipal Authority of Urban Cleaning (Autoridade Municipal de Limpeza Urbana - “Amlurb”) has a self-reporting electronic system called Waste Transportation Control - Electronic (Controle de Transporte de Resíduos - Eletrônico – “CTR-E”), which allows all commercial establishments to register and self-report a large generator of solid waste or not.
According to the Law 13478/2002, all commercial establishments that generate more than 200 liters of waste per day (Large Solid Waste Generators) must hire a company to operate in the services of collection, transportation, treatment, and final disposal of generated waste, maintaining the original copy of the contract at the inspection disposal.
Large generators of solid waste that do not register are subject to a penalty of BRL 1,639.60. The establishment classified as a small generator will not be entitled to a penalty, but it must provide the reporting registration.
