Tack and Tack Festival Challenge: DPC Supports a Project That Promotes Education and Innovation

Cultural project encourages the development of creative ideas and solutions for a better future.

Innovation, technology, and creativity were abundant at the 7th edition of the Tack Challenge and Tack Festival, initiatives supported by DPC Transforma, the company's socio-environmental responsibility program.

In the Tack Challenge, young people from all five regions of the country were stimulated to create technological solutions to promote culture as a tool for social inclusion. The selection rounds took place over the last few months, culminating in the grand finale on November 21.

Luiz Caldas, director of DPC, participated as a judge during this moment and highlighted the high-level projects presented, which led to a fierce competition. “It was a great challenge to make the judgments because we were all aware of the high responsibility and that a single detail could change the story of many young people. Everyone was very emotional after the results, especially the winners. It was my first time participating, and I was greatly impressed by the social impact of this project,” he said.

The winning team, composed of students from the Instituto Stella Maris, a state school in Soure, located on Marajó Island, PA, presented a solution in the form of an app for the inclusion of children with autism spectrum disorder. As a prize, the group will travel to the Brazil Conference at Harvard & MIT. The final can be watched here.

The Tack Festival took place in a hybrid format: two days online and one in person. The free program included panels on topics related to culture, technology, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. On November 23, at the Rio de Janeiro Planetarium, the closing ceremony included a circus workshop, a clown show, open-air cinema, and musical performances.

DPC has been a partner in this initiative for several years, supporting previous editions and even participating in stages such as the challenge selections.
