The deadline to file the Economic and Financial Report - DEF for the 3rd quarter is December 31, 2020
Companies receiving foreign direct investment with assets or equity equal to or greater than BRL 250 million are required to send the quarterly Economic-Financial Report (Declaração Econômico-Financeira - “DEF”), on dates set by the Central Bank of Brazil.
The DEF must be reported considering the base dates March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31.
The deadline for reporting the DEF considering the base date Sep-30-2020 is Dec-31-2020.
DEF is made of information about capital; equity, assets and liabilities, and the “flow accounts” calculated in the quarter to which the report refers.
As we have a holiday season at the end of the year, we recommend to immediately take the necessary analyzes and measures.
Penalties
Failure to report the DEF or providing false, incomplete, inaccurate, or providing information after the deadline may result in penalties.
Legal base Central Bank of Brazil Circular No. 3,689/2013, as amended by Circular No. 3,814/2016.
