Trends in people management technologies for 2023
Technological solutions that optimize people management will remain a major trend in 2023
By Fábio Máximo
People management is among the business processes that have been affected the most by the pandemic. As remote working gains ground, new needs have arisen for employees and companies alike.
The use of technology is on the rise as a go-to aid for companies wishing to hire and manage personnel from a distance, whether fully or in part.
People management technology and compliance
Companies reap many benefits from implementing technology into their people management routines, showing marked improvements in processes optimization, speed, information security and employee satisfaction, just to name a few.
In effect, a myriad of solutions can be deployed quickly and with a high degree of customization. With the necessary setup, it is possible to ensure integration with ERPs and other systems to meet each business’ needs. This should all be done in full compliance with the labor laws in force.
Here is a look at some of the processes and routines that make use of new technology trends:
1. Digital recruitment
Using a digital platform, candidates themselves are able to supply their documents and provide information in a more efficient way, kickstarting the hiring process and even signing employment agreements and contract terms electronically.
The process becomes much faster, since candidates can take immediate action in case any document is missing or in disagreement.
Recruitment breaches are cut to a minimum and workers in Human Resources and Personnel Department are relieved from performing registrations, while being able to keep track of the process in real time.
2. Online time tracking
Online time tracking has been established as the most suitable way to monitor working hours under any work arrangement in today's world. Whether it be work performed in-person, remotely or in hybrid format, online time and attendance is more dynamic and practical for companies and professionals.
Employees can clock in and record their time and geolocation straight from a computer or mobile application. Managers keep track of their employees’ working hours on a dashboard that displays hours worked overtime, late arrivals and absences by the whole team.
3. Digital payroll
This resource ensures greater comfort for employees by granting them access to their payrolls on any day and time, as soon as each payment is processed.
A digital payroll also allows for important information to be conveyed to employees in a very convenient and sustainable way. For human resources and personnel department there is also a gain in time, as those departments will no longer be required to supply the pay stubs for each employee individually.
4. Online vacation management
Process digitization has also proved to be an ally to optimal vacation management. From just one screen and in a few steps, managers are able to check their staff’s vacation granting periods and requests. On the same platform, managers can approve or deny each request made by their employees. This is simple and practical for both parties.
This solution keeps information contained in a single platform and does away with heavy e-mail flows and outdated management procedures.
5. Systematic job requisitions
Having a single system to request additional staff, discharge and replace employees is very worthwhile in terms of people management.
Being able to manage all this in one single software makes the procedures all the more dynamic, streamlining the routines of managers and human resources/personnel department, as all data is gathered in a single environment, which simplifies the flow of information and approvals.
Efficient strategies for people management
The shift towards technology for people management is irreversible. The faster companies implement these trends, the sooner will they start reaping the benefits of those smart solutions.
